IsMyHouseLegal Limited is a company set up by The International Law Partnership LLP to make available to the public reliable information about the legal status of new property developments overseas.

Knowing whether the house or apartment you want to buy is in a development with good legal title and valid planning permission can save you making a very serious and expensive mistake.

Normally, in order to find this information you would have to instruct lawyers in the country to carry out various checks about the property.  That can be expensive, especially in countries where a large percentage of properties are defective in terms of their legal title, their planning situation or both.

So IsMyHouseLegal Ltd was set up to make this information available at an affordable price.

This service is not a substitute for taking detailed legal advice about the purchase of your overseas property.  What it can do, however, is save you wasting your time and money having your lawyers check out properties that are obviously defective.
